History repeats itself on Saturday, when Stoke City are the visitors to Stamford Bridge to take on a Chelsea side on a good run of form. Chelsea beat the Potters 4-0 when they visited the bet365 stadium back in September.

On that day Mark Hughes had to pick from a makeshift backline with players suffering injury. He was also unable to pick Kurt Zouma when his parent club came to town. It appears from reports, that same scenario is occurring as the two teams prepare to meet up again.

According to The Daily Mail Mark Hughes is left facing a defensive crisis. Obviously, Zouma has to sit the game out. But injuries to Bruno Martins Indi and Ryan Shawcross, see Hughes being forced to play players out of position.

Shawcross missed the contest up in Stoke and following his early departure in the weekends game game against Huddersfield, with a possible calf strain, looks set to miss out again. Martins Indi is likely to be out for another two weeks before he returns from a groin injury.

An Alvaro Morata hat-trick and Pedro goal secured Chelsea`s win at the bet365, and with everything clicking for Chelsea barring goals, someone could be in for battering anytime soon.

It remains to be seen if that will be Stoke or not, but with the most porous defence in the league, having conceded 41 goals in 20 games, there`s every possibility Stoke may be the victims of a Chelsea onslaught.
