A Definite Reason To Dance A Jig Of Delight

|

This summer, we’ve all sat on the edge of our seats as transfer speculation has dallied with the suggestion that Eden Hazard was, for an enormous fee, bound for Real Madrid.

Thankfully, the suggestion seems, for now, to have died a natural death with it being implied that Eden will remain at Stamford Bridge for the 2018 / 2019 season.

There is also talk of Chelsea offering the 27-year-old a huge contract to entice him to stay at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of his career, which would delight the Chelsea support.

However, lurking in an article in the popular tabloid publication, the Mirror, you get the feeling that a prominent member of his family, his father, would be quite miffed if his son didn’t, one day, join the Bernabeu based club, with Thierry Hazard quoted as having remarked about the move not happening this summer:

“I cannot say why it did not go through. Not because I do not want to but because I do not know.

“Next year, Eden will have one year left on his contract but perhaps he never ends up in Madrid.”

Perhaps not, that’s the way the cookie crumbles but I’m sure thousands upon thousands of Chelsea supporters would dance a jig of delight if Eden were to remain at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.
