This afternoon, with nothing much to view on the television, I tuned into my copy of the 2012 Champions League Final.

You know, the one in which we beat Bayern Munich, in their own backyard, to win the trophy for the first time in our history.

But one thing struck me, namely just how much the squad has changed.

Take a look for yourselves:-

Starting XI v Bayern

? Petr Cech
? Jose Bosingwa (gone)
? Gary Cahill
? David Luiz (gone)
? Ashley Cole (going)
? John Obi Mikel
? Frank Lampard (going)
? Juan Mata (gone)
? Ryan Bertrand
? Salomon Kalou (gone)
? Didier Drogba (gone)

Subs v Bayern

? Ross Turnbull (gone)
? Paulo Ferreira (retired)
? Michael Essien (gone)
? Oriol Romeu
? Florent Malouda (gone)
? Daniel Sturridge (gone)
? Fernando Torres

Gone – 9
Retired – 1
Going – 2

Futures in doubt – Bertrand, Romeu, Mikel,

Now that is some turnover considering the game was a little over 2 years ago!
