A Lack Of Premier League Action Could Be Forcing Loftus-Cheek Towards A January Loan Move

|

Next week, Chelsea resume their Europa League campaign, safe in the knowledge that their performances in the previous Group L fixtures have guaranteed them a place in the next stage of the competition.

It is more than likely that Maurizio Sarri will make wholesale changes to the starting eleven that will face Tottenham Hotspur, at Wembley, on Saturday afternoon.

One of those changes will, inevitably, see Ruben Loftus-Cheek given a midfield place.

But, although it’s always great to see Loftus-Cheek given the chance to showcase his talents, could the fact that the 22-year-old continues to be deprived of regular action in the Premier League mean that the midfielder could be forced out of Stamford Bridge when the January transfer window arrives?

According to the news source, the Times, that could be exactly the case.

Our referenced source is reporting that, already, there is interest from two clubs keen to acquire the player, with the two clubs being Crystal Palace and Schalke.

Loftus-Cheek, of course, spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park and the loan move proved to be a productive one for all parties concerned.

Schalke, in the Bundesliga, would be a different experience but not one that should be ignored.

Personally, I’d prefer Loftus-Cheek to remain with Sarri’s squad for the remainder of the season but if a loan move is to be driven by a desire to play regular league football, whether it be in the Premier League or the Bundesliga, then Selhurst Park would be my preferred option.
