Following the disappointing display produced by Chelsea, against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley, the Chelsea support could certainly do with some good news.

It wasn’t the defeat that hurt but more the manner, if Chelsea were thirty-points worse than City last season then the gap looks to have widened since May.

But, with the summer transfer window closing this Thursday, could the support be cheered by the announcement of a big signing?

Lurking in the pages of the popular tabloid publication, the Mirror is the inference that Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to sign the Crystal Palace star, Wilfried Zaha.

Although the 25-year-old only signed a new contract, at Selhurst Park, last year he’s looking for a move to a big club.

However, Roy Hodgson is in no rush to lose his star player and has slapped a hefty price-tag on his asset.

The price-tag is high enough to scare Tottenham Hotspur off, who were the club looking the most likely to sign Zaha.

So how high is this price-tag?

Well, according to our referenced source, Crystal Palace want £75 million for the player, which, in my opinion, isn’t going to happen.

Can you see Chelsea paying that sort of money for Zaha?

I can’t!

Maurizio Sarri might talk about only wanting to add one player to his squad but if it’s Zaha, at that sort of money, I’d be very surprised, wouldn’t you?

  • I won’t be surprise if Roman and the board decides to bank on Zaha , so lets see what the next crucial 72hrs will bring.

  • Go for Anthony Martial instead big club player established premier player Zaha went to big club and couldn’t cut it martial all the way for me

  • Just go for Kovacic on a player/cash swap with Real. That would set up a briljant midfield with him, Kante and Jorginho. With different options from the bench.

Offload Morata, bring in a worldclass striker. Swap Willian for Martial and the attack seems good as well.

Defence?… well, defence needs a bit more 🙂

  • our highest area of need is the midfield not the wing. I therefore wish our “wonderful” board would address that area. I see Batsman taking over from Morata as our top striker and Giroud as backup. As for Morata he should be loaned, sold or consigned to the bench. He’s not Chelsea quality.

  • Please our executive board should as matter of urgency send morata on loan for his is Chelsea team problem.

Since no club want him on permanent signing, please let get him loan out, if he remains with the Chelsea team, our new coach, Sarri be frustrated and he will soon be fired as well.

  • My 2 cents
    1. We could swap TiBo for Kovacic. If we want we can add TiBo + cash for Kovacic and navas
    2. We should swap Drinkwater for Ramsey and loan off Bakayoko.
    3. If willian wants to go then we swap for martial. Martial can play as a striker as well. And spend cash for zaha/bailey. If we go for zaha, we can loan RLC to palace.
    4. I liked Marcin Bulka during the pre season. Looks quite assured.

We could have a starting line up of

    Hazarad(Odoi) – Martial(Bats) – Zaha(Pedro)
    Ramsey(Barkley) – Jorginho(Cesc) – Kante(Kovacic)
    Alonso(Emerson) – Christensen(luiz) – Rudiger(Cahill) – Azpi(Moses/Zappa)
Navas(Bulka) .Bulka looked good in the pre season and wud prefer him over Willy.

  • Morata is my worry. I really expect something big from him. But he seems not to be ready for it
