A Rumoured Signing We Just Can’t See Happening

|

Following the disappointing display produced by Chelsea, against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley, the Chelsea support could certainly do with some good news.

It wasn’t the defeat that hurt but more the manner, if Chelsea were thirty-points worse than City last season then the gap looks to have widened since May.

But, with the summer transfer window closing this Thursday, could the support be cheered by the announcement of a big signing?

Maybe!

Lurking in the pages of the popular tabloid publication, the Mirror is the inference that Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to sign the Crystal Palace star, Wilfried Zaha.

Although the 25-year-old only signed a new contract, at Selhurst Park, last year he’s looking for a move to a big club.

However, Roy Hodgson is in no rush to lose his star player and has slapped a hefty price-tag on his asset.

The price-tag is high enough to scare Tottenham Hotspur off, who were the club looking the most likely to sign Zaha.

So how high is this price-tag?

Well, according to our referenced source, Crystal Palace want £75 million for the player, which, in my opinion, isn’t going to happen.

Can you see Chelsea paying that sort of money for Zaha?

I can’t!

Maurizio Sarri might talk about only wanting to add one player to his squad but if it’s Zaha, at that sort of money, I’d be very surprised, wouldn’t you?
