A Shock January Departure Could Stun Chelsea Fans

|

Yesterday, we reported on Maurizio Sarri’s admission that he wasn’t expecting to bring in any additions to the playing staff come the opening of the January transfer window.

Our article,Click Here, covered the fact the Italian was happy to work with the players he has and improve on what they can offer the team.

However, whilst there may not be any incoming signings, could we be about to witness the shock departure of an established member of Sarri’s current starting eleven.

According to the news source, the Express, that could very well be the case.

Our referenced source is reporting that the Catalan giants, Barcelona, are planning a move for our Brazilian defender, David Luiz.

The central defender is out of contract at the end of the season and at 31-years-of-age is only likely to be offered a one-year deal, in accordance with club policy for those already on the books and over the age of thirty.

Now whether David Luiz is happy to accept a deal of that length or would be looking for a longer deal, possibly elsewhere, remains to be seen.

But, if our aforementioned source has its facts correct, then David Luiz could very well see a career swansong move to the Nou Camp as an attractive proposition.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll keep an eye open for further developments and report back as deemed appropriate.
