A Thibaut Courtois Flaw And Replacement Talk Re-Surfaces

|

Sat in the office, this morning, discussing the events of last night, notably Belgium scraping through against Japan, one of the topics of conversation was Thibaut Courtois.

A Tottenham Hotspur supporting colleague of mine pointed out that he’d noticed that Courtois, whilst keeping goal, has a tendency to not move his feet. He pointed out that the 26-year-old doesn’t shuffle across his goal as much as other top-class keepers do.

I have to say I couldn’t fault his observation and perhaps it could explain why Courtois performances, last season, weren’t as good as we’d hoped for and has somebody from within the enemy camp noticed a flaw in Courtois game?

Once again, this morning, Courtois Chelsea future comes under the microscope with the news source, Sky Sports, carrying an interesting insinuation.

Our reference source is of the belief that if Chelsea do decide to cash in on Courtois this summer then the club could well turn their attention to bringing to Stamford Bridge the Leicester City keeper, Kasper Schmeichel.

Although the Dane is 31-years-of-age, that’s not considered to be old when it comes to goalkeepers.

But, if Courtois is sold this summer, would the recruitment of Schmeichel get your approval if the Dane were to follow N’Golo Kante and Canny Drinkwater from the King Power Stadium to SW6?
