A Third Midfielder Is Now Being Linked With A Move To Chelsea

|

Yesterday, as we covered the wealth of transfer speculation relative to our fine club, we ran an article that suggested that Chelsea were close to signing two midfielders.

Our article, Click Here, inferred that the duo set to become members of the Chelsea squad were the 24-year-old Argentine midfielder, Leandro Paredes, currently on the books of Zenit St Petersburg, and the Italian midfielder, Nicolo Barella, currently on the books of Cagliari.

This morning, in true January transfer window fashion, the situation has somewhat changed.

According to the French news source, L’equipe, Chelsea are set to focus their attention on the 23-year-old French international, currently on the books of Paris Saint-Germain, Adrien Rabiot.

Now, whether Rabiot is the man chosen to replace Cesc Fabregas or, quite possibly, either of Paredes or Barella isn’t coming to Stamford Bridge, remains to be seen, but we should point out we have major competition for his signature with Barcelona, according to our source, also said to be interested.

But, sat here in the editorial chair, I have to say that I’m enjoying the plethora of rumours coming our way but would appreciate it if we were to actually announce a signing, or two before the transfer window slams shut.
