And Another Chelsea Player Exits Stage Left On A Loan Spell

|

The conveyor belt, delivering young talent to other clubs, has seen yet another Chelsea player off-loaded in an attempt to further a career that has stalled.

The news source, the BBC, has confirmed that the tally of players Chelsea have out on loan has increased once again with our defender, Matt Miazga, going out on loan to Reading, in the Championship, until the end of the season.

Miazga, a 23-year-old USA international, signed for Chelsea from the New York Bulls, back in January 2016 for a reputed fee of £3.5 million.

But, since his arrival, the defender hasn’t been able to force his way into contention for a first-team place and has already spent loan spells at Vitesse and Nantes.

In joining Reading, Miazga links up with another Chelsea youngster, Lewis Baker.

But, at 23-years-of-age, we have to ask the question as to how long Chelsea will hang on to the player before he is sold in a permanent deal, even more so with talk of the number of players a club are allowed to send out on loan being discussed at the highest level.
