Antonio Conte discussed player issues during his pre-match press conference with the written press yesterday afternoon.

He spoke about the injury problems that have affected David Luiz and Charly Musonda Jr in recent weeks. Neither are available for this weekends visit of Stoke City, however the Italian said,

`The same players from the last game are available. Musonda and David Luiz are improving a lot, their recovery is very close. I`m not sure about the next game but for sure against Norwich they will be available.`

Chelsea visit Norwich City on January 6th in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, let`s see if Luiz is still at the club to play.

Someone else who has also been missing from Chelsea`s side for a long time is Baba Rahman. The Ghanaian tore cruciate knee ligaments at the African Cup of Nations, nearly a year ago and has not featured for Chelsea since. His long road to recovery is continuing. The Italian gave an update on his condition,

`This player is coming back from a bad injury and he`s struggling a bit to recover the best form,` Conte said. ‘I must be honest, I don`t know what will happen with Baba. From a human aspect, I`d like to give him an opportunity to come back strong like before.`

‘Now he has to face his recovery. He`s showing great patience because he`s struggling a lot. If I can help him I`m ready to help him because there is the player, and then there is the human aspect. For him it`s good to stay here and recover.`

Some signs of hope there for Baba, during what must have been an extremely frustrating time. Hopefully he can get back to his best and rejoin the Chelsea squad at some point in the future.
