Any Hopes Chelsea Striker Has Of A Move Must Be Put On Hold Until The Summer

|

The arrival of Gonzalo Higuain could result in the departure of Olivier Giroud.

That’s the spiel being spouted by the news source, Goal.

Seemingly, the 32-year-old World Cup-winning striker has spoken about a possible return to France after Chelsea secured the services of Higuain.

However, here at Vital Chelsea, we’d be surprised if the move were to happen during this transfer window.

With Alvaro Morata set to leave Stamford Bridge, to sign for Atletico Madrid, in a loan deal, it leaves Maurizio Sarri with just the two recognised strikers, Higuain and Giroud.

With Chelsea still actively involved in three cup competitions whilst also chasing that vital top-four spot in the Premier League, there are a plethora of games still to play this season.

At 31-years-of-age, we’re pretty sure that Higuain won’t start every game, Sarri, we feel, will rotate his strikers giving both of them the opportunity to get some first-team action.

Therefore, whilst we have to admit we’re not too surprised of talk relating to Giroud possibly leaving the club, we can’t see it happening at least until the summer, how about you?
