Barcelona Set To Raid Stamford Bridge Before The January Transfer Window Slams Shut

|

Back in the hours before the January transfer window opened, I’d have put good money on our French striker, Olivier Giroud, leaving the club.

But, now I’m not so sure it is going to happen.

With Tammy Abraham having picked up an ankle injury and with Frank Lampard yet to bring in that striker he yearns for, so far in this transfer window, letting Giroud go would leave Chelsea desperately short of strikers with, for the moment, only Michy Batshuayi to call upon.

Now, if I’ve called the situation correctly, 33-year-old Giroud could be set for a massive disappointment.

Although Giroud has been linked with a move to Milan, the latest destination being touted by The Daily Mail is probably one of the most attractive destinations in world football, Barcelona.

Giroud’s desire to leave is based on a lack of regular first-team football but you have to ask yourself would the situation be any different at the Camp Nou?

I think not!

But, then again, would it be morally right to deny Giroud what, in essence, would be a dream move in the swansong of his career?

Your thoughts on the above subject matter would be most appreciated in the comment facility beneath this article.
