After Chelsea slipped to that 4-2 defeat to the New York Red Bulls, in the early hours of Thursday morning, our new goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic, came in for some criticism.

In the aftermath of the defeat and with the post-mortem being conducted, some Vital Chelsea members were of the opinion that Begovic was at fault for some of the goals.

Some even went as far as to suggest we`d signed somebody, to replace Per Cech, whose career was on the slide.

Some even posted that they`d heard from Stoke City fans that the Bosnian keeper wasn`t as good as he once was and cost Stoke numerous points last season.

Well, all I can say is that I`m glad Jose Mourinho doesn`t follow the views of some of you lot!

Talking about his new keeper, following the 4-2 defeat against New York Red Bulls, and as quoted by the BBC, Jose remarked about Asmir,

‘Begovic was not sharp, a consequence of being tired from training. In the next game against PSG he will start.’

So there you have it, Jose has recognised the fault, analysed it and come up with the solution.

So can we all get behind Asmir now?
