Having spoken out earlier in the season about a lack of playing time and having found himself in trouble with a frustrated tweet, Charly Musonda has signed a new contract.

Musonda`s new deal runs until 2022. It looks as though he`s reflected on his recent comments, and decided he wants to take the Andreas Christensen route to stardom. The official Chelsea Website announced the deal earlier this evening.

Speaking after putting pen to paper Musonda said,

`I am very happy and very proud. I came here very young and am very happy to continue my journey here. I love this club so it`s a great moment for me and my family. Now I want to establish myself and progress into the team and stay here permanently.`

Let`s hope the Belgian U21 international now gets his head down and puts in the hard hours that will put the footballing world at his feet. Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia was pleased Musonda had signed,

`We are very happy Charly has committed his future to the club. He is an exciting talent who we believe can develop into an important first-team player and we hope he will be a part of Chelsea`s successes for a long time to come.`

Let`s hope those words come to fruition and Charly makes it with the Blues. Here at Vital Chelsea we wish him all the very best in his quest for success, we have every faith in him.
