As far as last night, up at Elland Road, was concerned, it was job done for Rafa Benitez.

Benitez who, before kick-off, had made his peace with Neil Warnock after a spat some five or six years ago, by shaking hands, had a few words to say after the 5-1 victory, remarking about last night and his ongoing battle to win over the support,

“Winning games will make it easier getting everybody together.”

“I`m very pleased to win, pleased with the way we won and pleased that, coming back from Japan with the jet-lag and without sleeping too much, the players were tired but still fantastic.”

“The first half was good but the second half was a transformation.”

Indeed it was, that five goal salvo blew away any nagging doubts that we may become the latest victims of a Capital One Cup giant-killing, although you get the impression that, as for winning the support over, there is still a long way to go!
