With doubts about the future of Thibaut Courtois, at Chelsea, still generating column inches, we are able to bring you some positive news on the goalkeeping front.

It has been confirmed by the news source, Goal that Chelsea`s back-up keeper, Willy Caballero, will remain at the club until June 2019.

Our source explains that details of the Argentine`s initial contract were a little unclear when he signed on a free transfer after being released by Manchester City. However, it appears the deal included an option for an extra year which our source infers will be taken up by Chelsea.

At 36-years-of-age, Caballero has just been called up by the Argentine national squad and whenever he has appeared for Chelsea, most notably in the domestic cup competitions, he has proven to be a more than competent keeper.

The decision to take up the option for an extra year appears to have been a logical one and one we feel the club should be applauded for.
