Centre Back Could Prove To Be A Nice Little Earner For Chelsea

|

Yesterday we reported on speculation linking a Chelsea centre-back with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Our article Click Here, covered the fact that the reigning Scottish Premier League champions, Celtic, we relooking to sign Tomas Kalas, who is currently on a season-long loan spell at the Championship club, Bristol City.

Today, more information relating to a possible deal has emerged.

The news source, the Daily Star, is reporting that Celtic are looking to pay Chelsea £5 million as the transfer fee.

However, there is a possible obstacle to be overcome if the deal is to go through.

Our reference source also points out that Celtic are also looking at another centre-back as a possible alternative, the Red Star Belgrade player, Srdjan Babic.

With Kalas unlikely, at 25-years-of-age, to become a contender for a regular starting place at Chelsea it makes sense to push the deal through.

Although Kalas hasn’t made the breakthrough at Chelsea, we’d imagine his presence has generated some decent revenue, three seasons on loan (two at Fulham and one at Bristol City) would have seen his wages paid and also a loan fee paid, add that to the proposed transfer fee and it starts to make sense as to why Chelsea have so many players out on loan.

A nice little earner as someone might say!
