Following the entertaining but, at times, worrying 4-2 win over Watford, at Stamford Bridge, this lunchtime, both managers spoke to the media.

Antonio Conte, under pressure ahead of the game after presiding over three games without a victory, had this to say,

‘The performance was a good performance because to concede the equaliser at the end of the first and then go down in first part of the second half, our confidence in that moment was low.

‘But my players showed me that we have the attitude to fight and change the situation and get a different result. It was very important.

‘It is not simple because we are facing difficult situations but the spirit and commitment is right. I’m satisfied for the performance.’

As for the Watford manager, Marco Silva, who can consider himself unlucky that his side didn`t get the three points on offer after playing so well, he had this to say,

‘It is a really unfair result. It didn’t reflect the match and what we saw on the pitch.

‘Our team came here and controlled most of the match. We didn’t create many chances in the first half, it is true, but we controlled the game and Chelsea started to play on the counter attack.

‘We played our game and in the second half for 40 minutes there was one team playing on the pitch. After 2-1 we had clear chances to finish the match at 3-1.

‘I’m proud of how we played, but of course I’m really frustrated. It showed our way and we need to continue in this way.’

I`m sure Watford will play a lot worse and win sometime in the future.

  • The face of Conte after the 2nd Watford’s goal and his celebration after the winning goal sum up the kind of pressure on him.

  • It’s simple. Willian should always start in a home fixture. He’s too good for the bench, play him because he can make the difference, just like yesterday.
