Chelsea Astonished By FIFA Statement Relating To Transfer Ban

|

Less than an hour ago, news filtered through relating to Chelsea’s proposed 2-transfer window transfer ban.

Earlier this week, here at Vital Chelsea, Click Here, we exposed the possibility that FIFA would not grant Chelsea a transfer amnesty whilst their appeal was held.

Today that has proven to be exactly the case with the BBC, reporting that FIFA has closed the door on Chelsea having a mega-spending spree this summer before the appeal is concluded.

Reacting to the news and as reported by our reference source, Chelsea have responded with:

“Chelsea Football Club is astonished by the FIFA appeal committee’s decision not to suspend its sanction pending completion of the appeal process.

“So far as the club is aware, in all previous cases where a registration ban has been imposed by FIFA, a decision has also been made to suspend the sanction until the appeal process has been completed.

“In this case, Chelsea considers that it is being treated inconsistently in comparison with other European clubs.”

That may be the case but we did warn of this possibility in our article Click Here.

It remains to be seen what Chelsea’s next step is.
