In around forty-eight hours the January transfer window will be open and we expect an avalanche of transfer rumours to spring forth.

Today, a piece of transfer tittle-tattle lurking in the pages of the well-respected news source, the Telegraph is suggesting that Chelsea are set to make a move for a player they tried to capture in the summer.

The referenced source believes that Chelsea will make an approach to Everton to bring their midfielder, Ross Barkley, to Stamford Bridge.

Barkley, 24-years-of-age, is intent on leaving the Goodison Park based club and was expected to make a move last summer.

Unfortunately, a bad injury scuppered those plans.

However, although Barkley`s current contract runs out at the end of the season, meaning he could leave Everton for nothing, our aforementioned source reckons Chelsea want to do a deal for the player in January.

But, it should be pointed out that Barkley; courtesy of his injury, hasn`t played a game this season.

What are your feelings on a possible deal?
