I must admit the events of the last few days have left me dumbstruck.
Okay, our form had dipped in recent months, with Frank Lampard in charge, but surely, they were not bad enough for the legend to be axed!
How wrong I was!
Now we have a new man in charge with Thomas Tuchel set to try his luck in the hottest seat in football.
After taking over just in time for the visit of Wolves, he watched on as his first team selection ground out a possession based 0-0 draw.
It was not pretty, and it was not attractive but there were signs of some tactical nous.
This Sunday, we welcome Burnley to Stamford Bridge for a Premier League fixture.

Chelsea Could Land Midfield Target Cheaply
I was extremely sad for Frank Lampard , as i felt he deserved more time, especially as he took up the job in challenging circumstances & got us a top-4 spot which gave us CL qualification which was needed to attract top talent to the club.
But at the same time, post this past months slump, it wasn’t looking like Frank would figure things out soon enough to get us into Top-4 again this year. With Tuchel, i do get the feeling he will iron out the kinks in time to help us get back into Top-4 by season end. Yesterday , with no time to observe the squad, he went for experience & surely realised by games end that he had got it wrong. I don’t see him taking long to get us firing again & tightening up at the back at the same time.
So though i have huge sympathy for Frank & hope that he will be back one day after getting the necessary experience & tactical nous, i think i’m seeing the board’s logic to try & grab a top manager who might not have been available come season’s end, and try to get something out of the current season itself, which was looking increasingly unlikely with every game.
