Chelsea Defender Could Get The Move He Deserves

|

Back in August, with the season set to get underway, I’m guessing that you, like me, would have been amazed if someone had of suggested that Gary Cahill wouldn’t make a single Premier League in the season ahead.

Unfortunately, that proved to be exactly the case with the experienced defender, apparently, not impressing Maurizio Sarri.

As a result, Cahill will head for the Stamford Bridge exit this summer and he leaves, of course, with our best wishes.

But where could the next destination be for the 33-year-central defender who has won everything with our club?

According to the red-top publication, the Daily Mirror, Cahill could be joining up with a familiar face.

Our referenced source is implying that if Derby County, managed by our very own legend Frank Lampard, achieve promotion to the Premier League, via the Championship Play-Off Final this Bank Holiday Monday, then Cahill will be one of their summer targets.

In my opinion, the move makes sense for all concerned. Cahill will get to continue his career in the top-flight, Derby County will get an experienced defender and a ‘painful’ situation, at Chelsea, will have come to a satisfactory conclusion.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll monitor the situation and report back as deemed necessary.
