Chelsea Defender To Be Offered New Deal

A change in manager, or head coach as they tend to call them these days, has resulted in the careers of several Chelsea players being resurrected.

One such player is our German international defender, Antonio Rudiger.

The 28-year-old did no appear to be part of Frank Lampard’s plans but since the appointment of Thomas Tuchel, he is now a mainstay of the German’s starting XI.

Whether the situation will change once Thiago Silva returns to full fitness remains to be seen.

But Rudiger has put in some impressive shifts and his resurgence looks set to be rewarded.

According to Football Insider 24/7, Chelsea are set to open talks with the defender relating to a new deal.

But before we all break out into miles, the inference is given that if both parties cannot come to a successful agreement, Rudiger could end up leaving Stamford Bridge with, once again, Tottenham Hotspur being named as a potential destination.
