Chelsea Defender Wanted On Loan By Two London Clubs As Transfer Window Closure Looms Large

|

Although our official club captain, Gary Cahill, is unable to secure a place in Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven, it looks as if the 33-year-old is wanted by two other clubs in London.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’d be very surprised if, once the transfer window closes, Cahill is still at Stamford Bridge.

The latest mutterings from the tabloid publication, the Sun, is that Crystal Palace want to sign Cahill, on loan, for the remainder of the season.

However, there could also be a more lucrative offer in the pipeline.

According to the other major tabloid publication, the Mirror, is the insinuation that Unai Emery is looking at taking Cahill, on loan, to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal, already struggling with injuries to defenders, picked up more injury woes in their FA Cup defeat at the hands of Manchester United, on Friday evening, when Sokratis Papastathopoulos picked up an ankle injury and Laurent Koscielny suffered a suspected broken jaw.

However, before Emery can commit to adding Cahill to his squad, it is also being suggested by our referenced source that the Spaniard needs to ensure adding Cahill doesn’t unbalance the clubs’ books.

With Cahill being in demand, the next couple of days, before the transfer window, shuts, could be interesting.
