On the continent, a Spanish youngster is attracting the attention of numerous big clubs.
The youngster in question is Nico Melamed.
At just 18-years-of-age, according to the Italian media source Gian Luca DiMarzio, Melamed has been watched by Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Currently, on the books of Espanyol, this exciting teenager has a release clause of just £7.3 million in his current contract.
Chelsea have shown this season the enormous benefits of having talented youngsters to be able to call upon, although perhaps we should admit that was due to exceptional circumstances, namely the transfer ban imposed by FIFA.
Now whether Chelsea can persuade the teenager that his long-term future is at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen, especially in the face of such illustrious opposition.
However, it may be worth remembering the name of Nico Melamed and we’ll see if the future, for this defensive midfielder, is as golden as predicted.
