As the days pass by there seems less chance than ever that Chelsea Football Club and their Brazilian winger / forward will come to an amicable agreement regarding a new contract.
The last time we covered the situation – chelsea-winger-linked-with-move-to-the-bundesliga – there was talk of the Bavarian giants, Bayern Munich, possibly offering the 31-year-old a deal.
This morning though, the media are reporting on what, here at Vital Chelsea, we’d consider to be a shocking development.
According to The Mirror, Willian, who is currently back home in Brazil as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to obliterate the sports programme, is said to be in talks about a move to Liverpool once his contract expires.
Now that shocking proposition is enough to make me ponder even more why Chelsea are so reticent to give Willian the three-year deal he wants.
But surely Willian will be aware that if he joins Liverpool he probably won’t get regular first-team football he deserves.
