Chelsea Have A Big Decision To Make On This One

|

As we wait, patiently, for news from Stamford Bridge on the evolving managerial situation and with the club unable to participate in buying players for the next two transfer windows, the media speculation, this morning, surrounds the possibility of one of our youngsters going out on loan.

The Guardian, are reporting that Aston Villa, after successfully loaning Tammy Abraham from Chelsea last season, are looking at loaning Ethan Ampadu for the coming season.

Ampadu, just eighteen-years-of-age, is already a Welsh international and has the distinction, last season, of playing more for his country than he did for Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri giving the teenager just three starts two in the Fa Cup and one in the Europa League.

Able to play either as a defender or in midfield, whether Chelsea agree to let the player go to Aston Villa or not would, in my opinion, rest on who is in the managerial role at Stamford Bridge next season.

There’s no doubting that Ampadu needs regular football and that he needs to be tested at the top-level of the English game, but will he be more likely to get that chance at Villa Park as opposed to Stamford Bridge?

Whatever the club decides to do it must not fall into the scenario where he’s sent on loan but doesn’t get the regular football he needs.

Personally, I reckon a loan move to Aston Villa could be just what Ethan needs but if I were in charge, I’d insist on it only being until the January transfer window initially.

But what would you do, would you send Ampadu out on loan or keep him at Stamford Bridge?
