Another player on Antonio Conte’s defensive radar is, Liverpool target, Virgil Van Dijk. With the Dutchman keen on a move away from St. Mary’s, Chelsea hope to scupper the Reds deal, with a £50m offer.

The Times run the story which claims Chelsea hope to use the poor relationship that exists between Southampton and Liverpool in order to seal the deal.

Despite already bringing Antonio Rudiger to the club Conte still feels the need to strengthen Chelsea`s backline. Van Dijk was a player Conte was after in January.

The clever money though, is on Van Dijk moving to Anfield as he has clearly stated his desire to play for Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool without doubt need him.

Having already tried to sneak him in via the backdoor, and failing, Liverpool remain favourites to get their man, but?…If Chelsea could tease him to West London it would be a big blow to any Premier League title hopes Liverpool may have. Which is nice.
