Chelsea Increase Offer To Lure Midfielder To SW6

|

Yesterday we reported on how Chelsea had agreed on personal terms with the Argentine midfielder, Leandro Paredes.

Our article, Click Here, covered the fact that the player was willing to leave the Russian side, Zenit St Petersburg, to try his luck in the Premier League, with Chelsea.

It also implied that Chelsea were looking to pay £27 million to Zenit St Petersburg for the 24-year-old player to secure his services.

However, according to an article appearing in the Daily Star, today, the original fee offered might not have been tempting enough for the deal to be signed, sealed and delivered.

Our referenced source is reporting that Chelsea have increased their original offer to £36 million to get the deal done.

Now, whether this figure will be sufficient remains to be seen.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll keep a watchful eye out for any further developments on the subject matter and report back as deemed appropriate.

Personally, I get the feeling that Zenit St Petersburg could be holding us to ransom in order to get a higher transfer fee but then again they wouldn’t be the first club to do that would they!
