It may well have gone under the radar over the past week, amidst the ongoing John Terry storm, the arrivals of Mr Ancelotti, Daniel Sturridge, Yuri Zhirkov, Ross Turnbull, and the squad’s recent departure to the United States, however twelve promising youngsters have had their dreams come true by being handed scholarship forms at Stamford Bridge.

They are:

James Ashton
Billy Clifford
Aziz Deen-Conteh
Bobby Devyne
Rohan Ince
Billy Knott
Milan Lalkovic
Josh McEachran
Philipp Prosenik
Anton Rodgers
Ben Sampayo
George Saville

Notable mentions include that of Anton Rodgers, who is the son of recently-departed youth coach, and now Reading manager, Brendan Rodgers.

For the dozen starlets, the hard work begins here as they work to prove themselves worthy of a professional contract with the Blues.

However, there was some time for the newcomers to let their hair down recently at Cobham, as the first-team organised a dance-off initiation for them.

It has become somewhat of a Chelsea tradition to initiate any new arrivals at the club, dating back to the days of skipper Dennis Wise, and John Terry has taken it upon himself to uphold those long-held beliefs.

We await news of how Mr Ancelotti, along with Sturridge, Zhirkov and Turnbull perform when they are forced to sing in front of the squad during a dinner meal in pre-season.

However, if your thirst for initiation cannot wait that long, then devour in the below clip, courtesy of Chelsea TV, of the dancing youngsters taking their bow in front of first-team members and backroom staff at Cobham.

And pay particular attention to club captain JT, who appears to be content and loving the entertainment being provided by the kids. A far cry from a wantaway mercenary, some might say.
