As Chelsea contemplate a trip to Transylvania, to play Cluj, Luiz Felipe Scolari can only watch on as his injury problems mount.

Already out are Michael Essien, Anderson Deco and Ricardo Carvalho. However, major doubts now exist regarding the fitness of two wide players, Joe Cole and Salomon Kalou.

Cole missed the trip to Stoke with a slight tear in his thigh muscle whilst Kalou was forced off at half time at Stoke after seemingly picking up an ankle injury battling to win back possession midway through the first half.

Speaking after the clash with Stoke, Scolari was unable to confirm the situation regarding possible selection, remarking,

‘I don’t know [for Kalou] because it’s the second time in the same leg, I wish and I think for Romania it is okay,’

‘For Joe [Cole], I say nothing until tomorrow, but Deco and Ricardo [Carvalho] are out.’

We`ll endeavour to provide further updates when available.
