Chelsea Intent on Bringing Sandro to Stamford Bridge?

Now I`m not sure just how much truth there is in the press coverage of Antonio Conte and Chelsea being at loggerheads.

I`d like to hope that it is all either press sensationalism or just a storm in a tea-cup.

But if one of the sticking points was a lack of transfer activity this summer, with Conte`s wishes not being fulfilled, things, if the press are correct, have certainly upped another gear.

Our friends at the Sun on Sunday are reporting that one of those on Conte`s wish-list, Alex Sandro, is set to be the subject of a transfer approach this coming week.

Our source is of the opinion that Chelsea are set to submit a bid for the 26-year-old Brazilian wing-back.

However, the sticking point, for what is seen as Chelsea`s marque signing this summer, could be the price with Juventus wanting £70 million for the player.

Chelsea`s interest in the wing-back is apparently quantified by the Juventus general director, Giuseppe Marotta, who has remarked,

“We said no to a very good offer from Chelsea for Alex Sandro.”

If that is the case, then a decision clearly as to be made as to how high Chelsea, if they really want Alex Sandro, are prepared to go to bring the player to Stamford Bridge.

I guess only time will tell.
