I`m guessing that whenever a player comes on the market that has a decent price-tag our status means that we`re always going to be mentioned as a possible destination.

One such player and a perfect example of the above is the Leicester City player Riyad Mahrez.

With the player looking to leave Leicester City, Chelsea find themselves grouped with a number of clubs also including Everton and Roma who are supposedly interested in the 26-year-old who is rated around the £40 million mark.

This is despite Chelsea having a trio of players in Hazard, Willian and Pedro who are all perfectly able to play the role Mahrez performs.

But, continuing according to the Daily Mail, Leicester are not budging when it comes to the price they wanted, said to be in excess of £40 million, that`s even if we were seriously interested in the Algerian.

But, elsewhere, our association with the player could, as we believe, mean nothing, with the media source Metro confidently championing the suggestion that Mahrez has agreed terms with Roma.

All a bit much ado about nothing if you ask me, I don`t reckon we`ve ever expressed an interest in Riyad Mahrez, do you?

  • Holy Farts! why are we linked with anything these days? why would Chelsea want Mahrez when we already have enough wingers?

  • The guy is heading to Roma. He should have moved on since last season when the applause was still high. He was endlessly waiting for Barcelona to make a bid.

  • I would have loved to have him on the right side of the field for hos goal scoring exploits and also to take some pressure of Hazard but I don’t want either Pedro or Willian leaving. Sorry Mahrez. Go find love in Roma
