If Chelsea are indeed looking to revamp their striking options before the new season starts in three weeks, a new name has appeared in the transfer gossip columns.

It seems that Chelsea are set to make a bid for the Serbian striker Aleksander Mitrovic.

The rumours, substantiated by the Daily Star suggests that Chelsea are set to rival Newcastle and Swansea for his signature.

Rated at £15 million, the striker is currently on the books of Anderlecht, who are, so we`re told, willing to sell.

Perhaps Chelsea may hold the ace in that Mitrovic might find it easier to settle in SW6 with fellow Serbians Nemanja Matic and Branislav Ivanovic on our books.

Last season Mitrovic showed his class by banging in 23 goals for the Belgian side, Anderlecht.

Here at Vital Chelsea we`ll endeavour to keep our eyes open for any developments.
