Chelsea Keen To Push Striker Deal Through In Time For Saturday Fixture

|

With negotiations having been ongoing, so the media would have us believe, for several days now, it would appear that Chelsea are now in a hurry to ensure that the Argentine striker, Gonzalo Higuain, is available for selection, this Saturday, for the Premier League fixture away to Arsenal.

According to the news vehicle, the Evening Standard, negotiations are moving, at a pace, with his parent club, Juventus to ensure that the striker is ready to lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.

From what we can make out, Chelsea are looking to sign the player, on loan, until the end of the season with a view to a possible permanent deal to follow.

At 31-years-of-age, Higuain is no spring chicken and it’s unsure whether the striker can make the desired impact, in the Premier League.

However, despite reservations expressed earlier by myself about bringing the player to Stamford Bridge, we have to place our trust in Maurizio Sarri who knows all about the striker having worked with him at Napoli.

If the deal is done in time, what a debut it would be if he could score the winner, against Arsenal, on Saturday.
