Yesterday a rumour that has done the rounds before resurfaced.

It relates to the talented young Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Two sources we stumbled upon, the72.co.uk and Shoot that Chelsea Football Club were set to make an offer for their England U21 international keeper.

Bettinelli was the first choice keeper for Fulham last season making 37 appearances for our neighbours and has totalled over 100 appearances in all.

Although Chelsea recently signed Asmir Begovic to replace Petr Cech, the suggestion is that Jose wants to get as much young talent on Chelsea`s boos as he can, with the ‘Special One` intent on creating a legacy at Stamford Bridge.

However, whether our West London neighbours will be interested in doing a deal, especially at the price our sources have suggested, remains debatable.

Here at Vital Chelsea we`ll endeavour to keep an eye on proceedings and report back any further developments.
