One interesting piece of transfer speculation, doing the rounds, this morning, has caught my eye.
It comes courtesy of the popular tabloid publication, the Sun.
Our referenced source is reporting that Chelsea could be looking to spring a major deal come the opening of the January transfer window.
According to our source, Chelsea are one of three Premier League sides, the other two being Liverpool and Arsenal, who are looking towards the Camp Nou to sign a young forward who hasn’t quite cut the mustard in La Liga.
The player in question being the 21-year-old French forward Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele, who joined Barcelona for a fee of €105 million from Borussia Dortmund, back in August 2017 but saw his first season disrupted by injury.
Now whether Barcelona are interested in parting with their young striker remains to be seen but, if they are, then the fee, we feel, wouldn’t be much less than the enormous fee they paid.
If that is the case, the feeling here in the Vital Chelsea editorial chair is that it would be a huge gamble paying so much for somebody who hasn’t hit the heights expected of him.
But, what is your view on a possible deal?
Would you approve or disapprove?
