Chelsea Linked With An Interesting Summer Acquisition As Lampard Looks To Build A New Side

|

As the summer transfer window draws nearer, although we should point out it is still a fair few months away, transfer speculation relating to whom Chelsea might buy is starting to ramp up.

The last twenty-four hours have seen Chelsea linked with the possible acquisition of a centre-back.

It’s fair to say that Chelsea, despite Frank Lampard trying a variety of combinations at the heart of the defence, have looked vulnerable this season.

According to The Mirror, Frank Lampard is eyeing up a move for the RB Leipzig centre-back – Dayot Upamecano.

Upamecano has yet to make his full international debut but has played for France at every other level.

At 21-years-of-age, the youngster is clearly one for the future but, if he decides to join Chelsea, he’d be following in the footsteps of two other French centre-backs that instantly spring to mind – Frank LeBouef and Marcel Desailly and both of them proved to be fine acquisitions did they not!

Here at Vital Chelsea we’ll keep an eye out for developments and report back as deemed necessary.

I think if that happens then a couple of centre backs on our current list will go probably Rudiger and Tomori will stay it’s just economics we can’t have five central backs

I am in support of getting a top class defender, since the last close one we bought was Rudiger two seasons ago..
Chelsea need to sit down and access Tomori,, Christensen and zouma and know who needs to leave.

Let me call it again…. GET A DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER TO THIS TEAM… who ever is responsible for transfers should pls help. Enough of this jorginho and Aouar type pls…. That midfield lacks steel… Bayern exposed that midfield to the high heavens… Pls Chelsea get a strong def mid in.

    Its a priority!!!!

Who else is noticing this?? Lampard had always blame the players for every problem, both keeper, defenders, midfielders, attackers, … He always blame the players, hence his chop and change, (not rotation).

He has never himself in any of this…. This route he has taken will be his undoing….

He is the number problem in defensive issue. Then players are second.

Klopp has the same issues but the signing of van dirk did not solve it all… Klopp has to do his work properly….

Lampard should stop the blame game… He is becoming helpless.
