Chelsea Linked With Italian International Defender

|

Speculation, appearing in the media, has a nasty habit of, on occasions, throwing up the name of the same possible target summer after summer.

This morning, luring in the Italian media vehicle, corrieredellosport, is that Chelsea Football Club are showing, once again, an interest in bringing the centre-back Leonardo Bonucci to Stamford Bridge.

Now, when this piece of speculation surfaced, probably three summers ago, it might have made perfect sense.

However, the AC Milan defender is now 31-years-of-age and quite possibly past his peak.

But that hasn’t put off, according to our source, Paris Saint-Germain from also showing an interest in the Italian international.

Perhaps, when it comes to his age, I’m being harsh, perhaps Bonucci is one of those players who can play at the top level of his sport until the mid-thirties.

However, I can’t help feeling that his age would make him nothing more than a short-term buy and a player who has no real resale value.

But, what are your views on ay proposed deal?

Would you be for or against?
