Chelsea Linked With The Acquisition Of A Nigerian Striker

|

With Chelsea experiencing a slump in form whereby they’ve lost four out of their last five Premier League games, the clamour is growing for the club to bring in some fresh faces in the January transfer window.

Recently, with Chelsea’s form having slumped, Frank Lampard has inferred that his side must be more clinical in front of goal.

To that effect, the club are this morning, being linked with the acquisition of a striker who could provide Tammy Abraham with some competition.

However, the target linked to the club by this source, 90 min.com is something of an unknown to me.

Seemingly, Chelsea are looking at the Nigerian forward, Josh Mata, who is on the books of the French club, Bordeaux.

The striker, just 20-years-of-age, has experience of English football having, previously, been on the books of Sunderland.

However, in January 2019, Maja left Sunderland to join Bordeaux where he has scored 7 goals in 23 games.

In my opinion, it’s hardly the kind of goalscoring form that’d turn my head and if Chelsea are to add a striker to their ranks, in January, I’d be expecting someone whose name may have a more familiar ring to it.

How about you?

Do you believe Josh Mata is the answer to Chelsea’s quest to be more clinical in front of goal?
