Chelsea Linked With the Acquisition Of A Spanish Midfielder

|

As the opening of the January transfer window draws nearer every day, the speculation linking Chelsea with the acquisition of additions to their squad is starting to ramp up.

The trouble is, it’s often hard to distinguish whether the speculation that finds its way into the media relates to a January buy or a buy that will be pursued when the summer transfer window opens.

This morning, the tabloid publication, the Sun, carries the insinuation that Chelsea are among a trio of London clubs looking to sign a midfielder who is currently on the books of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

The midfielder in question is 26-year-old Isco and as for the other two London clubs looking to, possibly, rival us for his signature, look no further than Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

If Isco were to come to Stamford Bridge, he’d be another addition to what is already a healthy Spanish contingent which, in itself, could help persuade Isco that Chelsea is the next club for him.

However, whilst I’d welcome the signing, what are your thoughts on the possible purchase?

Do we need another midfielder added to our squad or do you believe the contingent we already have the ability to carry our club towards silverware?
