Chelsea Looking To Re-Sign A Player They Sold Back In 2018

|

Chelsea’s failure, or reluctance, to add to their squad in the January transfer window, we’re hoping, should result in a flurry of activity once the summer transfer window opens.

But who is the emerging transfer speculation linking the club too?

One target, according to The Express, is someone supporters of the club should remember.

Our referenced source is implying that Chelsea are looking to bring back to Stamford Bridge one of the plethora of youngsters they’ve let go over the years, a certain Jeremie Boga.

Boga, 23-years-of-age, was sold to the Italian club, Sassuolo, back in 2018, for just £3 million after the midfielder failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and had been sent out on loan-spells to Birmingham, Granada and Rennes.

It seems, according to our source, Chelsea inserted a buy-back clause in the deal, a clause that would mean an expenditure of £12.7 million to re-sign the player.

Now whether this is a deal that gets concluded remains to be seen, but is there a lesson to be learned?
