For a club of Chelsea`s stature, it`s common practise to be linked with every Tom, Dick or Harry, or should be Thomasz, Henrick and Franz in this modern era, when it comes to possible transfers.

So many names come and go as far as possible acquisitions go that it is often impossible to keep track.

Yesterday, whilst we were pre-occupied with taking the three points on offer against Crystal Palace, something that went very pear-shaped as it happens, the name of one player popped up in the transfer tittle-tattle that won`t be heading to Stamford Bridge.

According to the good folk of the Guardian, Chelsea`s apparent interest, along with that of Liverpool and Manchester City, has been ended by Borussia Dortmund.

It seems that Borussia Dortmund have moved quickly to sign Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Dahoud, Syrian by birth, is a 21-year-old midfielder tipped for great things.

I guess it`s a case of some you win and some you lose!
