Chelsea Not Interested In Selling Centre-Back To Barcelona

|

Recently, a piece of speculation we picked up upon, implied that one of Chelsea’s centre-backs could be headed to the Camp Nou.

Our article, Click Here, covered the inference that Barcelona were keen to sign our 22-year-old Danish international centre-back, Andreas Christensen.

Christensen who has gone from a regular choice under Antonio Conte, to a bit-part player under Maurizio Sarri, made a rare first-team appearance for Chelsea last night, as they edged past Bournemouth in a tense Carabao Cup quarter-final tie.

However, according to the news source, Sky Sports, Chelsea have no interest in selling the young defender with our referenced source implying that Chelsea have rejected interest from the Catalan giants, Barcelona.

If so, this would seem to indicate that Christensen does have a future at Stamford Bridge and the club may be wary of losing the Brazilian centre-back, David Luiz, if the two parties cannot come to an agreement on a new contract, with his current one expiring at the end of the season.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll keep our eyes open for any further developments on what could be an ongoing story and report back as deemed necessary.
