As far as the midfield department, in the current Chelsea squad, goes, I’d suggest we have a group of players that could develop to be one of the most effective units in the Premier League.

Blessed with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, along with the emerging talent that is Billy Gilmour, you’d think Frank Lampard would be happy with his lot.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t!

However, transfer speculation appearing in the media this morning would imply it may be the latter with The Express, inferring that Chelsea have added the Ukrainian midfielder, Ruslan Malinovskyi, to their transfer wish-list once the FIFA enforced two-transfer window ban is finished.

Malinovski is 26-years-of-age and currently on the books of Atalanta, but, and here is the big question, would a deal for the Ukrainian international be something that gets your approval, or would we be better off sticking with what we’ve currently got?

  • Comment Chelsea must buy a strike, and must find the better replacement for Zuma if Chelsea is to improve because on the middle it’s fine, so you have to work on back and front line.

  • Comment.
Chelsea have to work on the front line on number 9 to find a good strike, and to replace Zuma at the back. at the middle it’s okey.

  • We don’t need any one in the midfield. We only need to re-enforce our defence and another strong attacker.

  • Our midfield is solid no need of searching for another midfielder.
We wnt a ripe & experienced striker to be scoring goals bcz Tammy we can’t rely much on him.
Our defence is the most porous in the EPL so re-enforce the defense.

  • Willian is aging and will be wornout soon… Mount, Pulisic, Hudson Odoi, Gilmour are sufficient work in progress for Midfield together with Joginho, Kante…. What Chelsea need now is a deadly striker of Diego Costa or Drogba flair to complilent Abraham in tiles of dry spells. Chelsea should focus more on Strikeforce and improving our defence on resources available

  • If he’s an intelligent midfielder it’s good to go for considering the number of matches and kind of schedule England use to have. Because i could remember those days Chelsea can comfortably new two solid teams.

  • Chelsea have been given a golden opportunity with the transfer ban. Personally i wish it was for 2yrs. These group of kids have been the best in Europe for the past few seasons or up there. They are comming off age. We should use the lot and continue to look within

    • Need to strenthen defence. Mitchy is gud backup for Abraham. Ya wish that ban to run its 2 window ban

  • I tink wat we need nw is formidable striker and s
Also c central defender d mildfield department is gud to go nw

  • The likes of kovacic, kante, jorginho, backley, Ruben and the young lad gilmour make Chelsea’s midfield one of the best in the world, then what else are we looking for? Lampard was a great midfielder, he should work with them to gain more experience, if not he will be having problems of selection.

  • Chelsea is now in the right direction..thanks to coach for this energetic young generation..hats off to Lampard

  • I think what chelsea my darling team need is jus to reinforce the defensive line by adding one center back and very strong front line like one then the midfield they should blend all young players with kante and jorginho together the is good to go

  • We should take care only for defence , rest is fine to compete even in champion’s league in near future. We should also look after physical fitness. How come lot of important players like Kante, Rudiger, Christianson and others are injured in the same time ?

  • I think we should concentrate on defence and one striker coz at the moment no problem with the midfield

  • My take is that, Chelsea needs to focus more on developing more defenders especially central defence. That is an area that they really have problems with, not the midfield.

  • Our defence needs reinforcement to a avoid conceding unnecessary goals. Moreso, although we have a very much promising talented young Tammy Abram likely to fit in the shoes legend Didier Dgogba, he needs someone to partner him
