Chelsea Playing Hard Ball As The Inevitable Doesn’t Quite Draw Nearer

|

Wednesday night will, I firmly believe, see Eden Hazard pull on a Chelsea shirt for the last time, before he, eventually, heads for the Bernabeu.

It’s a crying shame that due to the corporate greed of UEFA, only around 3,000 Chelsea supporters will be there to bid farewell to one of the most gifted players to ever wear our hallowed shirt.

However, whilst I fully expect the 28-year-old Belgian international to leave, the deal may not get signed, sealed and delivered as quickly as Hazard is hoping for.

The red-top publication, the Daily Mirror, is suggesting that Hazard would quite like the deal to be concluded before 4 June.

However, there is one huge obstacle currently preventing that deadline from being met – money!

Our source champions the inference that Real Madrid have offered Chelsea £86 million for our chief asset, but Chelsea are intent on getting £112 million for the player, a fee I consider to be a fair price.

No doubt there will be some intense bartering going on behind the scenes, let’s just hope that Chelsea stand their ground and don’t accept anything less than £100 million for the player.

To do so would be criminal!
