Chelsea Prepare Double Raid On La Ligue As The January Transfer Window Nears

|

With the January transfer window set to open very shortly, it remains to be seen who Frank Lampard adds to his squad.

After the downturn in recent form, which culminated in the poor display and defeat at the hands of Southampton, at Stamford Bridge, on Boxing Day, Chelsea need to bring in reinforcements to bolster their young squad.

Today, lurking in the pages of The Daily Star is the inference that Chelsea are set to make raid on Paris Saint-Germain for not one, but two, of their squad.

Our source is suggesting that the intended targets are the 26-year-old German winger, Julian Draxler and the 30-year-old Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

But are both viable targets?

Starting with Draxler, the player would bring some much-needed experience to the club and on his day, he is world-class, however, here at Vital Chelsea, we’re a little worried by just how few times he’s started for Paris Saint-Germain.

Continuing with Gueye, the player has Premier League experience with Everton and moved move to La Ligue back in the summer. At 30-years-of-age, you’d have to question longevity of the proposed deal.

With such a huge, reportedly, treasure chest at hand, my own view is that Chelsea could do better than target these two, but what are your views on the possible deals?

Please feel free to drop your viewpoint into the comment facility beneath this article.
