Chelsea Reject Serie A Approach For Midfielder

|

This summer transfer window has been a busy and we hope very productive one for Chelsea Football Club,

Frank Lampard has spent big as he hopes to close the gap between Chelsea and the likes of title-winning Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, with a plethora of signings and with, possibly, more to come, we are expecting, before the transfer window slams shut, the exodus of several of the first-team squad from last season.

But will our French World Cup-winning midfielder, N’Golo Kante, be one of them?

At the moment it appears not.

This morning, The Guardian, is championing the inference that Chelsea have rejected an offer for the services of 29-year-old Kante from Inter Milan, an offer that is also reported to have included the Croatia international, Marcelo Brozovic.

But, you get the impression Inter might not be finished when it comes to making approaches for Kante with our referenced source also inferring that the possibility of the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Christian Eriksen, was also mentioned as a possible player exchange.

I believe that Kante if he remains fit, is an essential part of Chelsea’s squad, his ability to protect the back-four as a defensive midfielder is renowned worldwide and there is also the option of playing the Frenchman in a more advanced position if the need arises.

But what are your views on Kante?

Is it time to sell or is he still a valuable and essential part of our squad?
