Chelsea Set To Finally Appoint A Replacement For Michael Emenalo

|

When, back in 2016, Michael Emenalo left Chelsea Football Club, we were under the impression that the club wouldn’t take too long in appointing a successor.

However, for one reason or another, it never happened.

Instead, Roman Abramovich entrusted Marina Granovskaia to oversee the function previously fulfilled by Emenalo.

But, according to the news source, the Daily Star, which has picked up on a news story circulating in the French media, that could be about to change.

According to our quoted source, Chelsea are taking a serious look at offering the role to the Lille sporting director, Luis Campos.

Campos, 54-years-old, in his career, has been involved with Real Madrid and Monaco as well as a number of Portuguese clubs during his managerial days.

As for uncovering talent, Campos is credited with discovering the likes of James Rodriguez, Bernardo Silva, Djibril Sidibe, Benjamin Mendy and our own Tiemoue Bakayoko.

However, Chelsea are not the only club interested in appointing Campos as their sporting director with Manchester United also lurking in the wings.

Here at Vital Chelsea, our feeling is that since Emenalo left, there’s been a void waiting to be filled, hopefully, Campos will be the man to do just that.

We’ll monitor the situation for any developments and report back as deemed necessary.
